Ditto here. I read on this very list someone's quote that "So Far" was
'the drum n bass album of the year', so, having only heard "Candles" (and
a a remix of it, natch) I picked it up.

Needless to say, I was disappointed, but seeing that I plonked down $15
for this CD, I tried to enjoy as much of it as I could. My main
disapoointment was the beats themselves - just hi-speed loops or high BPM
drum machine patterns. No clever, complex breakbeat editing that other
DN'B releases have me foaming over.

I do like "Candles," but realized when I bought the album that the
"Candles" I originally dug had a different, more driving loop (Sorry, I
*hate* how some remixes fool you, when you hear a certain tune and go buy
the album only to hear an anemic original version...But I guess
the record companies get more money that way...)

Speaking of Remixes, I also heard a remix of "Jazz Master" which I thought
had a considerable amount of phatness.

Maybe Reece should have remixed the entire album before he released it...
Perhaps our opinions here would be vastly different. You know, come to
think of it, "So Far" could pass as a "excellent collection of
DN'B demos".
