Hey all,
I happened to spot an issue of "Mixmag" today (I think it was vol.
2, #64?) that had an article on "French house" according to the cover. When
I opened it for a look (it is also preceeded by an article on DJ Shadow), lo
and behold, I see the following names; Dimitri from Paris, La Funk Mob,
L'homme Qui Valait 3 Milliard$ (LFM alias), Motorbass (1/2 LFM!), I:Cube and
more! It certainly seemed to be talking about alot more than house.

The angle of the article was some supposed fallacy, that the French can't
make music (it asks how many famous Frenchies there are music-wise and says
only Serge Gainsbourg is truly well known,) and that the underground circles
now are reflecting some kind of musical renaissance (sp?) Note that Dimitri
from Paris himself opens the article saying the French are bad at music (or
words to that effect.)

Among other bits of info, it confirms what the main Frenchman on the list
(Daniel H. of course! ;-) has already told me; MC Solaar will have a new LP
early in '97, produced entirely by La Funk Mob. Considering the
experimental angle they've been taking lately, it should prove interesting!
(Props to Daniel, as this was his news first!)

Well, I think that about covers it. The mag was 2.50 pounds for all the
Brits here and $5.50 for the Aussie kids. All others, beats me but it
seemed pretty cheap.

Before I zoom off, wlecome back to Ben List who I saw making another post
the other day. Keep that Japanese news coming! Arigato! (My Japanese is
about as good as my French.... i.e. bad! ;-)

Talk to y'all later. Final exams approach..... (Hmmmm.... Then what?)
