I can understand how the seemingly sudden props given to Larry Levan and the Paradise Garage from every magazine can get on your nerves. Overexposure to something can do that.
But there is a reason why he's getting those props, and it's because he was the prototype for the modern dj. I won't go into his achievements (by now I'm sure you know) but for a long time he wasn't really given credit for what he helped originate, for reasons that I would comment on if someone wanted to email me privately (so as not to divert the thread).
The man and the club are legends and you can't really go wrong with paying proper respect.
