Hi Mates,
"strictly speaking" the Acid Jazz movement started in the late 80's
and finished in the mid of 90's.That is the period in which this list grew up.
So I see that most part of talk in these list it's not about Acid Jazz,
but i accepted it and I like it since five years ago when i subscribed to
this list.
We always know that this list is a conventional place where to share
and talk about good music with certain characteristics that are changin
everyday and that we feel and share in an instinctive and common way.
No matter what major domestic labels with heavy distribution
decide about our presumed future music or tastes...
Like I said ,i'm not a rookie of this list and surely i
don't claim to define what is real music or stop anyone to talk about
pitch games or venues I'll can't never visit.
I like it all and i did and i'll do share all this with all of u.
I respect all of your opinion!!
I still like mess around with my 1210 mk and I'll keep on buying vynils.
The sense of my first mail and i apologize if it did'nt succeded to
transmit it in an effective way ,is that it seems strange to me having
read for istance, so many mails about Nikka Costa (I like it ,I got it)
that is'nt an acidjazz artist (always strictly speaking..) and so little
about Ursula Rucker or Llorca or 4 hero that are not acidjazz artists
,strictly speaking...but play good music the same.
I remember hundreds of mails about Jill Scott when two years ago
the girl was raisin.
Maybe now it's not so cool to talk about her because now she has an heavy
distribution ?
I'm not criticizing but telling my opinion.
I was surprised to see goin under silence in this list a great
work like "Experience".
I write to list one mail every 2 years about,(so these days are
statistically important to me....) but i read all the mails since five or
six years .
I usually prefer read your mex than write mine(lazy guy).
But when I write ,i'd like to be read without having lessons on
what AJ is or what are the pro and cons of Mainstream US music market.
        Don't put yourself on defensive.
        I love this list.
I was only talking about music.
        With respect
        Brunello
P.S. My opinion on Experience's Jill Scott?
If U are subscribed here ,U can buy it....
And if u check on the 22/11/01 tracklist of Gilles
Peterson Worldwide
U can find Jill's Sweet justice.
Who explain to him that Jill is not an acidjazz artist,
strictly speaking?
