Ciao a tutti,
O.K. Let's try:
Jill Scott was the the Roots lead singer.
Dunno if she was former or part-time.
Her "Experience 826 " (hidden Beach Rec.) is gonna be one of the best records
of 2002.
         Notice to purists :
Where're in Nu Soul range here ,but i guess we can talk about it
even if is not Acid jazz ...
         It's a double cd.The first is a classic live .
It contains almost all tunes from Who's Jill Scott plus an inedite
(Fatback Taffy)
If this was the only stuff it would already be a good business to
buy it.
The fact is that there is another cd where you can find 8 brand
new tunes + 3 ghost tracks!!!.
"Gotta get up" was recorded between London and Philadelphia with
4hero.
I can't find an ugly tune among them.
Maybe " One is the magic" is the weakest ring to my tastes
(little bit melodic but funny afterall).
She blends the Eryka and Mary J vibes showing that she knows how do
it better in both directions and more.
Her voice turns from sweet-salted timbre a la Badou to the heat
stream of Mary J or Angie.
        She's definitively a natural.
Like those football champions having left and right shot, head, game
vision .
        In few words:magic touch.
        The recordings are cool.
Songs too,the writing is superior to the average.
The total sound is rooted to the 70's soul funky with an actual
and personal style .
I 'm not the kind of fanatic about this or that artist.
I liked "Who's Jill Scott" just because it was good .
I love this because is a masterpiece.
         Buy it!
          Ciao
