The first, s/t (w/"Turn Me On") & _Aladdin_ (w/"Teach Me How to Fly")
are probably my favorites. All of 'em are growers, though-- I love
_Songs_ ("Tales of Brave Ulysses"), _Dinner Music_ has "Want You to
Know" (me & a friend were gonna make a comp & call it "brainwash
rock"-- that song would be right up there!), & of course "Black Gold"
on _Hey Love_. I can see people not being mad keen on more than a
couple tracks off some of these lps, but overall they really have a
quirky charm that worms it's way into yr heart--
It being Xmas, however, I'd be seriously remiss to not mention
_Peace_ for the 444th time, the greatest Christmas album ever cut, by
gum!
The way the stuff gets broken down on disc, s/t & _Peace_ are
singles, _Songs_ & _Hey Love_ get bundled, then _Aladdin_ & _Hey
Love_. I'd start w/s/t or the _Aladdin_ 2fer--
In a really similar vein is the 5th Dimension's _Magic Garden_,
another really cool & deceptively deep psychedelic soul album--
