Yeah - I just picked this up - not really knowing the sound of the
thing - but the Big Cheese label had been recommended to me. It sounds
like a jazz band that would be hired by a kinda hip orthodontics
convention. Some of the styles heard:
Big Band w/a kind of Stanley Jordan guitar sound
Brazilian (lite)
Early 80's Funk
A few Chick Corea style numbers
Quincy Jones (respect) meets Incognito at its worst
Much Latin Style (lite)
Wedding Jazz Swank
I kept waiting for something redeeming to happen on this disc - but it
never happened. Needless to say it's for sale. Someone who likes a more
straight-ahead 'light and happy' kinda jazz might really love this. It's
fairly well played - just not my style.
