He's only had two solo LPs out - and "Green Chimneys" is the only
"straight" jazz LP he's done. His 1991 LP "Blessing In Disguise" is a real
mixture of styles, and has some wonderful tracks on it, including
absolutely the best cover of "Be Thankful for What You've Got" I've ever
heard. Unfortunately it sold about 3 copies and Polydor killed his
contract.
He's been involved with this thing we call acid-jazz right from the outset
- he had a great track on the Gilles Peterson organized "Freedom Principle"
compilation that followed the original "Acid Jazz and Other Illicit
Grooves" LP.
I'm glad to hear that (according to SNC) he's developing a relationship
with Dorado, as he needs a label that's forward looking enough to let him
follow his ideas through...
