* for those who asked, the Giant Steps movie is available at your local
blockbuster (well, at MY local Blockbuster) under DRAMA. I was pretty out of
it when I saw it a coupla years ago, but I remember liking it :) at least it
depicted love for music in a most efficient way
* last night we started Disco Velvet in the Liquid Lounge @ Vinyl (1615 n.
clybourn). every tuesday 9-2 no cover. It's a lounge night, and I finally
was able to play Michael's "Uncertain T" at 33rpm, imagine that. Format is
abstract jazz to ambient techno. We'll be featuring guest djs soon so email
me if you gonna be around chi-town (mark, mRk, bob, bubblicious...?). Oh and
email for guest list at Shelter on fridays. Winter should be fun :)

* is everybody getting a crateful of Drum&Bass/Jungle too? seems like for a
year or so, all B-sides are filled with 80/160 remixes, from Mo'Wax to
Dorado via the french crews. I like it, especially since the "ruffneck"
attitude is not a requirement anymore
* I don't like to see new compilations out, mainly because they usually
decrease the value of the original 12-inches that I have worked so hard to
buy :) and that's the case with the "Tribes of da underground" compilation
(I don't remember the label). Title sounds pretty cheezy, content is not! by
any means go and get this! features Beanfield, Tosca, and many others. I had
half of it on singles but bought it for the other half. It's all good, and
they probably have it on CD too. So, I don't like comps but I'd like to see
more of this quality :)
