>Hi,
>I putting together my wish-list for Santa, and need some help with some albums.
>From reading the poll submissions, I've come up with a few albums that
>interest me. Can someone try and *describe* the music I could find on the
>following:
>Digable Planets - Blowout Comb
>Shara Nelson - Friendly Fire
The Shara Nelson LP is similar to the LP's of other vocalists who leave
the groups they started with and go solo. Her voice is still nice but
the songs are badly written and poorly produced. The LP sounds more
like an inferior imitation of current American r&b/soul than anything
you'd call "AJ."
>Takemura (Is it 'Nobukazu' or 'DJ' or both?) - A Child's View
Dope, Brazilian influences, soft vocals on some tracks, pure
niceness. See also Spiritual Vibes.
>Whatever the Goldie album is called.
>Recipe For Disaster - DJ Food (I think). Actually, it won't matter
>what anyone says on this one, 'cause I'll buy it anyway. I love all the DJ
>Food, Coldcut stuff coming out of Ninja.
Ta,
Marc.
