Fresh old Verve stuff

The masters of repackaging at Verve have scored another musicaly
conscientious victory in their effort to open up their vaults on the cheap
to youngins like us who are discovering their classics 20 to 30 years on.

The latest is a two-albums-on-one-CD-for-one-low price: Grant Green's His
Majesty King Funk and Donald Byrd's Up. Both are fine, essential additions
to your collections, from 1965ish period. Hancock is along on the Byrd
album, and he contributes to a super cover of his own Cantaloupe Island.
You'll know what I mean when you hear it, but the tune has as close to an
acid-jazzy beat as I've heard on any record from 1965.

The album was cheap too - $12.99 Cdn, and it's an import. I'm sure it's
cheaper elsewhere.
