The Howie B. mix of Raw Stylus (the song title escapes me) is available only on
a supposedly promo double pack from Wired UK. The mix is exceptional... starting
out with usual Howie synth bleeps and blurts and winding into a "Birth"-like hip
hop beat. A vocal snippet repeats in the background and, after the beat and such
has sunken in, the beats pick up, get louder and phatter, and the single becomes
Howie B's most dancefloor friendly club stomper yet. Surprisingly, the end
section takes a healthy portion of the vocal (Howie usually keeps away from
original song material in remixing), and uses it to a soulful yet head nodding
end. Excellent. Bith BMF and I played it in our sets last night to nice audience
response.
Also Craig (and again, all)... the trouble plagued new issue of Soul Power just
arrived at the shop. Looks good! Check Craig's interview/article on Howie B. in
it... tops!
PEACE

P.S. Which on is the best album release of the month so far: A.P.E.'s
"Striplight" on Dorado or Funki Procini's "Hed Phone Sex" on NinjaTune? Both are
incredible full length efforts!
