Looking back in the past year, I found a serious lack of soulful vocals.
Props to D'Angelo, D-Influence, D-Note (Palema Anderson), Groove Theory
etc... but this year seemed like one long ass experiment. I just miss some
nice boogie action...
Found a toon last night that really does the do.
Look out for Maxwell's "Sumthin' Sumthin'" (Columbia). Nice and easy soul
business written by the legendary Leon Ware and Itaal Shur (keyboards for
Groove Collective).
This is definitely a cover but ain't it the worst when you can't remember
who it is! Do you know?
