Just finished reading a pretty neat article on Stanley Crouch, a very
controversial figure in Jazz and Black America in the 11/6 New Yorker. I'd
reccomend it as it was an interesting read. The reason why he is important is
because many believe him to be a powerful force behind the new "clean" jazz
style that Marsalis is after- and outside of that he is a very interesting man
and has lived through some important times in Jazz and Black America and has
some very charged things to say.
also,
I dont know how to interpret Alexees' categories of
"Four On The Floor" Song of 1995
and
"Thick Morass of Hazy Chronic Smoke" Song of 1995
what does that mean? (AJ newbie here)
