He's done at least one other soundtrack, the name of which escapes me.
John Lurie is also the bandleader of the world champion Lounge Lizards,
and a genius to boot. (IMHO)
While not "acid-jazz", Lurie and co.'s music is certainly some of the
more original jazz being produced. Earlier work, (particularly
their self-titled debut) is a bit difficult. But since then, Lurie has
chosen to combinethe experimental edge with more traditionally musical ideas,
resulting in a body of work that needs to be heard- and compared to all the
other "contemporary jazz" being produced- to be appreciated.
I recommend this band to all of you that aren't already hip to them,
especially if you like acid-jazz, but have never been exposed to,
well, jazz :)
