An interesting thing happened this week. I go to this gym and like =
most modern gyms, they have music blaring away while everyone works =
out. The music that was being played was not the best. One of the =
guys who worked there had brought in all his favourite hard-core techno =
CD's which was driving everyone nuts. Then I thought, 'hey, put =
together an acid jazz mix'. So off I went home and put together a =
couple of tapes & next time I went to the gym, I took them in. In =
Australia, acid jazz doesn't get a *lot* of radio airplay and most =
people don't know what it is. I popped these tapes on in the gym and =
everyone was really getting into it - seeing as 2000 people go through =
that place every week, I think I've converted a lot of people. They =
have all been asking me about the music & where to get it. (I'll have =
to lean on my local CD store & get a commission!).
I know that *we* know that acid jazz is the greatest music on the =
planet, but it made me feel really good to see non-acid-jazz-aware =
folks become enlightened & enthusiastic about it.
The gym is a really groovin' place now.
