I believe, for the record, that this is "Fritz the Cat," based on
characters created by R Crumb. I've forgotten the name of the
animator, but he's known for these flicks as well as "American Pop,"
"Wizards" and that live action/animation one that came out after
Roger Rabbit several years ago.
