FYI,
Instinct Records is based in New York City also.
I have an earlier New Breed compilation CD which I really like. There are some
good cuts by DJ Smash on it. I tried to order the CD you have at my local DJ
record store, but they couldn't get it. By the way, I am not a DJ. I am a
musician who composes in this new genre of music we all know and love.
I have privately sent e-mail to one or two people on the mailing list asking for
names and contacts at acid jazz labels, and have not heard back from them yet.
If and when I do, I'd be more than happy to share that info.
Peace,
Paul Senior

RE>List of U.S. acid jazz labels? 9/6/95
I know this was posted a few months ago, but if anyone is going to reply to
Dan's message, please post this info to the whole list.
I guess I'll start:
Ubiquity (SF)
New Breed (NY)
Instinct (uhhhh....)
see how much I know? :)
By the way, I was listening to a bunch of New Breed records at one of my
favorite local record stores (Satellite records - more of a techno shop but they
have public turntables) and I was wondering: Does anybody on this list *buy* New
Breed stuff - I mean, besides DJs? I bought Fat Jazzy Grooves #s 5&6 on CD but
was disappointed...and in my listening I decided that New Breed Records'
releases are really only good for DJs - they have too much repetition for my
tastes.

Is there an on line version of a list of some acid jazz labels, which are
U.S. companies. Not like I dont realize that alot of good shit comes
from the UK and from Japan, like Phat Vibes records. It is just that I
wish to explore the U.S. branches to some extent. Can anyone help me?
