I wouldn't trust the Berkeley guides worth crap. I met one of the writers
in Berlin as he was preparing for next year's edition, and those Berkeley
guide writers are one of those Generation (e)X(crement) copycat
grungeheads who think Jane's Addiction is 'funk' and don't know the
difference between acid jazz and acid indigestion.

Their ommission of the Jazz Cafe in the listings is a big indicator.
They also forgot the Blue Note, but that's only because it just opened
recently.

Like everyone says, "Time Out." In fact, the ESSENTIAL London
publications to acquire while there are a Time Out (for what to do) and
a "London A-Z" (pronounced 'London I-to-Zed' for all us Norteamericanos :))
map book (for how to get there - London roads are notorious for somehow
changing their names after a certain short distance)
