Attica Blues is one cat from London, or at least he chills and
spins there. He put out a track two summers ago on Mo Wax that was pretty
fresh. A-side: conteplating jazz (sloooow, dragged out, sensuous soul
beats- freddie hubbard sample- leap frog) B-side: large BDP style beats
with a catchy horn loop and scrathes. I know he also remixed something
for Ninja Tunes that is on the Jazzfunktical Tricknology comp. (or
whatever its called) and just did a rerub for a Flora Purim track (with a
fresh ass Guy Called Gerald mix to boot).
My last day in London I got to check him out at this old-school
hip-hop jam. He was just spinning but I got to jam out with him beat-box
style w/ some congas. Pretty fresh indeed. Oh yeah, he does Levi ads with
Mo Wax, too (if you can believe that). Trivia . . . Peace.
