Not exactly true... Japanese is pronounced at the same rate from mora to
mora, whereas French (and Spanish) is the same rate from syllable to
syllable and English is the same rate from STRESSED syllable to syllable.
Those are the only 4 languages that I think have been studied in this way.
Maybe Basque, too.
