Hello everybody.
First of all, I didn't catch the beginning of the thread, so let me
apologize straight away if i'm asking questions that have already been
discussed.
There are a few points that aren't clear about the sampler CD project. I
understand that it'll be a compilation of the a-jazz list members' work, but
what I don't know is how it will be distributed: if on a request basis or
mail-order or what. I'm asking this for a very simple reason: I know of two
*very* good record stores here in Lisbon that would kill for such a CD (or a
bunch of them), so if it doesn't conflict with the ethics of the project,
I'd like to propose these two entities for distribution in Portugal.
I understand that it might be too soon to be raising the question of the
creation of a label or not, or the creation of a formal distributor or not,
but I thought I'd ask. If it is indeed to soon or simply irrelevant, just
tell me to shut up.
I hope that it is clear that the purpose here is to spread the music as
widely as possible, *not* make heaps of money with it. Also it is not for my
own sake. If James (or whoever is taking care of managing the project) wants
a direct link to the stores, I'll be more than glad to supply them with the
contacts.
