Yeah, I konw a little.
TJ Kirk is a band out of the San Fransisco/Oakland scene and they do sort
of acid jazz/jazz music. They only play covers tunes. The band is four
guys (John Schott, Will Bernard, Scott Amendola, and Charlie Hunter).
This is the Charlie Hunter of the Charlie Hunter Trio Fame (blue note).
I've never heard 'em but they'te supposed to be really good. They are on
Warner Brothers. Their name comes from the culmination of three jazz
greats: TJ KIRK: 'T' for Theloniuos Monk, and I forget the 'J' and the
'Kirk". Check 'em out though. My band Belizbeha is playing with them in
Ithaca New York on the 14th of October too. :)
