I have nothing against all the styles and genres you mentioned (mambo, dub,
dancehall, etc.), in fact, I love them! I think my problem is when they are
all done badly. (Although, the Masta Ace re-mix of "Creator..." has merit.)

Further, I've given the album several trys and the moment I always realize
it is so weak is on that -- "New York, New York... the biGG APPLE!" song.

I'm reminded of an interview I read once with Donald Fagin. He was talking
about how great it is to work with studio musicians because they are so
brilliant. BUT they so often think they can write and produce good music
when often all they produce is dreck.

Maybe some artists are just not made for the studio, because (as i have
stated before) they are a good band live.
