Anyways, great album...mostly French rap, a few English ones, and some
in to my best guess, one of the Senagalese languages...(Wolof??) almost
all with hip-hop beats and jazzy/traditional Senegalese backgrounds.
Lyrics are political and cultural...'Respect the Nubians' about the
Africa vs. African-American (or I suppose more generally
African-anywhereelsebutafrica) topic, 'Le Borreau est noir' - Elitist african
governments, 'Ataya' (Senegalese tea) lounging at a tea party with rhythmic
style a l'Alliance Ethnik, and more tracks politically focused on Africa.
According to the liner notes, Pigale Boom Bass from La Funk Mob produces
a couple tracks and Raw Stylus does others.
Again, great album...check it out if you can find it.
