First off I should say that the Ninja Tune/Coldcut sound IS my thing.
Ever since I picked up "What's that noise" about 5 years ago - a great set of
tracks some of which resurfaced in the Journey's by DJ compilation - I've
been a fan.

The set in NYC maxed out - the initial sound was techno with a little jungle
As the clock struck 12:30 the immmense sounds of "extreme possibilities"
poured into the hall. This was just the beginning and the next three hours
saw old school mixed into jungle, techno, and hip-hop. Most of it
was new, I only recognised a sequence from the JDJ lp and some cuts
from a Recipe for Disaster. There was also some Wu tang Clan and
I heard a De La Soul joint mixed in. Wicked.

The venue was this huge arena which only filled up after 1am but the sound
was massive. This wasn't for dj watching - I thought they looked pretty
unremarkeable and paid them little attention. There was plenty else going on.

Next up from the UK, LTJ Bukem ...
