Any way you look at it, the posting of this question was an advertisment. I
would suggest continued advertising only if you want to get tons of cassette
tapes in the mail. So many tapes that you will never have time to listen to
them all. Most labels don't take unsolicited tapes, for fear that they might
get accused of stealing a song submitted as a demo & end up in court.
I don't know how things are in the UK, but most folks with independent labels in
the US do so because they or their friends are musicians & they want 100%
ownership and control over their music.
Probably your best bet is to just hang out a great deal in your local music
scene, get familiar with the artists around town and approach the ones you think
will fit your needs.
