electric jhelisa

i just picked up the latest jhelisa ep-language electric or electric
language--can't remember which, i'm not home now. regardless of its
name, however, it is great release. i haven't always been too happy with
the remixes of her work, but this release is consistently deep and
consistently dark. there are two mixes in additional to the original of
electric language and an instrumental track (jhelisa wrote the music,
arranged the horns) with Matt Cooper of Outside on the piano. i had high
expectations about this release, and was still more than impressed with
the heavy, washed-over beats, and ambient ramblings, which weave
organically around jhelisa's swampy-soul high-spirit vocals. The
instrumental track is a great piece of Dorado collaboration, making me
miss Outside even more.
