It's Drew from Davis. Thanks again for posting the acid jazz info on
your webpage. I'm glad I got to see a cool band (West Coast Harem) on my
first visit to L.A. Sorry i couldn't stay and chat for a little while but
my friends were in a hurry to get somewhere.
I thought I would mention though that the info I got about that show
from your webpage I could not find at all in two of the local newspaper
type entertainment guides, which means that if I hadn't checked your
webpage then I wouldn't have found out about that show. In fact I
couldn't find any mention of that club at all, so I had to look up the
address in the phone book. Since getting that info into the newspaper is
usually free I just thought I should encourage you to use that publicity
to promote the music more, since most people are not hooked up to the cool
links that I am, much less the internet at all. You might wanna pass the
word around.
Also, I thought the Harem was pretty hot, but I was surprised that
there weren't a lot off people bouncing around and dancing to that type of
music. Being an out-of-towner I am curious as to whether that is the
typical crowd for this band or was it just the Sunday night crowd or just
at this particular place? Bands like that I think they sometimes groove a
lot better when there is an audience jumping up and down in front of them.
So to anybody in the L.A. area I say go dance to the West Coast Harem next
chance you get. They are worth the energy.
