Check out this fast and funky compilation, the first release from
Pulsating Pussy Quat Records. It features eight songs that were the
background music for the chase scenes of 60s and 70s films such as
"Shaft In Africa", "Gordon's War", "Slaughter's Big Rip Off", etc.
By far, the best compilation of the moment. Do seek and buy (Clint
Eastwood is on the cover).
---------------------------------------
"Made somewhere in the UK" says the label on the vinyl.
The catalogue number is PPQ001 and here's a track listing...
Side A
1. Moneyrunner - John Schroeder
2. Honey Baby Theme - Friends of Distinction, Weldon Irvine
3. Tryin' To Get Over - James Brown
4. Hot Wheels (The Chase) - Badder Than Evil
Side B
1. You Can't Even Walk In The Park - Johnny Pate
2. Main Squeeze - Quincy Jones
3. Where's My Kids - Domonic Frontiere
4. The Chase - James William Guercio
As I said, an excellent compilation, if only it were a
wee bit longer. I bought it in Greece, so I don't know
whether you'll be able to find it in the States.
Jazz On,
Alexees.
