O.K., I'm pretty sure that this is *all* the La Funk Mob appearances to
date. I've done my best to put them in chronological order. This is by no
means an official discog. though, so no doubt there's gonna be errors. A
general note: as far as I can tell La Funk Mob actually only really
consists of one guy, i.e. Pigale Boom Bass, who has also done alot of
production on many of the other artists in the J-Jay stable. Solaar being
one of the better known artists that he has worked with.

---------------------------------
VARIOUS ARTISTS - "Jimmy Jay presente 'Les Cool Sessions'" (1993, Virgin 877912)

La Funk Mob - "Intro" (1:55)
- "Instru Pour Le Mental" (4:56)

NOTES: I do believe that this is the first appearance of La Funk Mob. The
only previous work that I know of Boom Bass being involved in is production
(along with J-Jay,) on Solaar's first LP "Qui Seme Le Vent Recolte Le
Tempo" (1991, Polydor 511 133-2).

As an aside, "Instru Pour Le Mental" happens to be one of my all time
favourite La Funk Mob tracks for reasons that I won't go into! ;-) Both
tracks are best described as "hip-hop instrumentals".

--------------

"Tribulations Extra Sensorielles" (1994, Mo' Wax MW017)

"La Doctoresse"
"Motor Bass Get Phunked Up"
"Suspense"
"Ravers Suck Our Sound And Get Fuck"
"357 Magnum Force"
"Blunt Konnection"

NOTES: La Funk Mob's Mo' Wax debut. Outstanding tracks (in my opinion!)
include "Motor Bass Get Phunked Up" and "Ravers Suck Our Sound And Get
Fuck". All tracks fit the "hip-hop instrumentals" tag.

--------------

"Casse les frontieres, Fou les tetes en l'air" (1994, Mo' Wax MW023)

"Ravers Suck Our Sound" (Carl Craig Remix)
"Motor Bass Get Phunked Up" (Electrofunk Remix)
"Ravers Suck Our Sound" (Mystick Mix)
" " (Gangbang Mix)
" " (N.O.W. Mix)

NOTES: I'm unsure of format availability for this release, but mine is
double 10" vinyl. The first two tracks listed above are found on the
"Techno Disc" (as it is dubbed on the packaging.) As you might expect,
they do indeed reflect La Funk Mob's adventures into the world of techno
and are both enjoyable tracks. The other three tracks are on the "Hip-Hop
Disc". All are delicioso, especially the Mystick Mix (which mixes real
well with Shyheim's "Napsack" BTW! ;-)

--------------

VARIOUS ARTISTS - "Headz: A Soundtrack of Experimental Beathead Jams"
(1994, Mo' Wax MWLP026)

La Funk Mob - "Ravers Suck Our Sound"

NOTES: Compilation taking what was originally "Ravers Suck Our Sound And
Get Fuck". There's no changes to the track so that's all I really have to
say. There have been no further appearances of La Funk Mob on Mo' Wax (as
of yet.)

--------------

The Mighty Bop - "La vague sensorielle"
(?, Yellow Productions YP008A [vinyl] or YPCD008A [CD])

NOTES: As Daniel Hirschkoff's "Yellow Productions Home-page" says, "first
album of this DJ's Band fascinated by abstract hip-hop with special guests:
LA FUNK MOB & EJM."

Unfortunately for me I don't own this one, but I am looking for it! For
those who want more infromation on other Yellow Productions releases the
address is;

--------------

"The Mighty Bop Meet DJ Cam et La Funk Mob" (1995, Yellow Productions)

La Funk Mob - "Suce Mon Beat" (Sans remission mannix large mix)
- "Sans remission" (Deep inside mixx & feat. Celine B of Motorbass)

NOTES: The double LP I have has La Funk Mob (who are referred to as simply
"Funk Mob" on the reverse of the LP,) and DJ Cam strutting their stuff on
one side of a record each. Mighty Bop get two sides to play around on
(Face A and C. It is their record after all!) Also, as far as I can see
their is no catalogue number for this release. At least, there is none on
the packaging.

--------------

VARIOUS ARTISTS - "Source Lab" (1995, Source 7243-8409121-7)

La Funk Mob - "Slimfasst" (5:26)
- "Folowdadealer" (6:15)

NOTES: "Slimfasst" gains the honored position of opening the LP. It's a
blunted "hip-hop instrumental". "Folowdadealer", on the other hand, may
well represent a new direction for LFM. I would describe this track as
being "jungle" (of which their are several tracks on the "Source Lab" LP.)
LFM and jungle.... Hmmmm.... I dunno. This one is distributed by Virgin
France and as for the above catalogue number, I'm not sure I've copied down
the right thing. Looks a little dodgy eh?

---------------------------------

And that's it as far as I know. I suspect that they are probably also on
"'Les Cool sessions' Volume II" but haven't had the chance to get my hands
on a copy as of yet. No doubt there's some mega obscure appearances that
I've also missed. Please fill in the gaps! As for what they're doing
these days, beats me?! Anyone got any news?

Hope someone enjoyed this! :-)
