In addition to the "Bossa Brava" compilation previously mentioned there is
an earlier "This is Acid Jazz" comp called "Jazz Com Bossa" which is very
good. Also the German band No S=E9 has some very nice samba licks on their
record.

Other new releases include Reminiscence Quartet and S=E9rgio Bor=E9.

=46or vintage sounds I would run not walk to the nearest Cal Tjader record.
There's a comp reissue called "Los Ritmos Calientes" which is exemplary.
While you're there look also for Willie Bobo as well as the Latin Soul
Brothers.

And how about Miles Davis's "Sketches of Spain"? It's not his most
"acid-jazzy" release (that would be "On The Corner," IMO) but it's pretty
outstanding in a 50s cool jazz with strings kind of way.
