Jungle....well as long as the subject of jungle has hit the list, I have to make a quick recommendation....the Koop 12" on Clean Up has a jungle song on it that is in my brain today, it's got a pan flute, a dubby bass line, and an accordion, very interesting, check it. It also has two mixes of the title song, which is in German and should be in the soundtrack to some movie, and a fantasic Portishead-esque song called "Jellyfishes" on the B-side. Been out for a while, I suppose, but still one of the better 12"s I own, every vinyl buyer should give Clean Up Recs a try, you won't be disappointed! The two other releases I have are the Hunch Goodtimer EP and one by a dude called Aubrey Pasternak. Does anybody know of other releases from this label?
Also....if anyone gets this message in the next 20 minutes, I'm thinking of checking out a guy called John Hammond tonight in NYC, I vaguely remember someone here mentioning that he is a funky hammond player but I could be wrong and just seeing his last name and getting confused. Anybody have any info?
