Here's a web page which rates the various record shops in the S.F. area.

http://www.webcom.com/bg63/

I was in S.F. two weeks ago, and I bought stuff at Recycled Records and
Amoeba. One problem which I noticed at several stores is that they like to
seal the used records with plastic sleeves (taped shut), so that you cannot
examine the disk without taking it to the counter to be opened. Perhaps S.F.
has a greater problem with sneaky disk swappers than the stores in Seattle
have. Anyway, the counter guy at Recycled Records was not very adept at
opening this packaging, and he ended up fumbling with some scissors, and he
damaged a Frank Zappa album which I bought. Unfortunately, I didn't notice
the damage until I got home, so a return is not feasible.

So...check the merchandise carefully!
