I've only played the album once all the way through, but so far
I'm *very* impressed. It's a beautiful, mellow, straight-ahead
jazz album, accentuated by the turntable scratchings of DJ Pogo.
The instrumentation is very spare, so you can really concentrate
on each and every player. Most of the album is instrumental,
but Cassandra Wilson contributes some incredible sensual vocals
on a couple of tracks. (Can't wait to hear *her* new album!)

I bought the 2x12" import version of the album, which
includes the 4 Hero and Pressure Drop remixes of the track
"I've Known Rivers." These are a must-buy, however you
can get hold of them! Here's the complete track listing:

Side A
Prelude - The Water of Life
The 37th Chamber
Don't 'Xplain
Dah Blessing
In the Garden of Eden (Thinking Inside of You)

Side B
Creation Stepper
After the Damaja
Absolution

Side C
Each One (Must) Teach One
The Unknown Warrior (Song for my Forefathers)
I've Known Rivers
Outro - Guiding Light
Prince of Peace

Side D
I've Known Rivers (4 Hero Remix Vol. 1)
I've Known Rivers (Pressure Drop Rivers Run Deep Mix)
Don't 'Xplain (Dark Version)

I'm not familiar enough with Courtney Pine to rate this album
in comparison to his others. But it's an outstanding effort
all by itself.

Hope this helps. :-)
