I think the gig Ian is refering to was a show we did at the El Mocambo.
That gig made the '95 top ten show list by Torontos Eye magazines jazz critic
I think his comments are kinda interesting:
'Medeski Marin & Wood at the El Mocambo:
I didn't understand why MM&W are sometimes lumped in with acid jazz
until this show, where almost everyone was dancing (except me of course
- I'm a serious jazz guy)' - Tim Powis
DJ Curtis Smith also helped get peoples groove on for that night.
Ian... I'm getting two copies of your posts.
Also I mentioned last week about a documentary soundtrack piece that Massive
Attack may have sampled from. The sample appears in Eurochild not Karmacoma.
...saw the Connected video for the first time in a while the other day,
anyone know whats up with the Stereo MC's?
