Don't bother kevin, Talkin' Loud can ONLY be released via a Polygram
owned company in the states. Poly is part owner and bankrolls Talkin
Loud in the UK. Major label policies, with very very rare exception,
do not allow a subsidiary label originating in one territory (the UK,
in this case) to be "farmed" or licensed out to a label owned even in
part by, a competing major label.
the label i work for was at one time distributed by Island/Polygram
Records worldwide. when we could not get Polygram to release our
records
outside of the states, in most every case, they would not allow us to
take them to another major. occassionally, they would ok letting us
release stuff though internationally, though small indies unrelated to
any major. but it was with rare exception.
if you're gonna call a major to release Talkin Loud in the states, it
has to be a Polygram enterprise comp; ie London, Mercury, Island, or
whatever they're calling their labels lately !
best.
