Vinyl problems.

I discovered a sticky substance on one of my Jazz Funk 6 records.
Unfortunately, it's right in the middle of "Trinkets and Things",
a beautiful song. :(

Is there a solvent slightly stronger than alcohol that will remove
the skip-inducing nuisance without damaging the precious grooves?
