Yes, I would like to hear more of what people think about specific albums.
I've been wanting to start a thread on recordings with "staying power." I
don't know how else to describe them, but I'm sure someone has the
acceptable term. I've seen such posts in the past and they've been
helpful. What I mean are those recordings that keep sounding good over an
extended period of time. Of course, such things are quite subjective and
depend on the person, their experiences, when acquired, and so on. But
I've noticed how I keep coming back to certain recordings and feel like
telling others about it. For example, the self-title DJ Krush album. I
can't seem to get enough of it, even after getting "Meiso" that seemed to
draw more positive comments on this list. (Aside to those who have all
three recordings, would I like "Turntabilized" that much, assuming I can
ever find it?)

Don't get me wrong. I'm not the kind of person who listens to the same
recording over and over within a short period of time. At most I may
listen to a particular album a few times a week right after getting. And
yet, I'll wake up in the morning with certain songs playing in my head. I
won't even know which ones they are until I happen to play the right album
again. I've had this happen several times with "Big City Lover" (what, you
too?), even though I've sat down and listened to this one in an analytical
mode to try to figure out what's going on. After all, it's a pretty
formulaic piece--nothing really noteworthy. So, what is it?

There are a couple more albums I could name off the top of my head that
have produced similar results, but I'll hold because of the bandwidth
concerns. But it would certainly be a service to hear what
albums/eps/tracks have similar effects on you. I'm not so much interested
in the "can't get it out of my head" tunes, but in the ones that keep
sounding really good a month, two months, and six months down the road.
