i'm DEFINITELY w/lo-ki on this one. i've been picking up white labels and
promos for years "in the stores". i only started getting stuff from labels
because i'd CALL them and hype myself (you'd be surprized how well this
works). if you want the names of stores to find these goodies in, talk to a
dj! all the djs i know go record shopping regularly (i've met a few people
while shopping) because the dopest shit is usually stuff you find on your own!

as far as playing old stuff, everyone looks for the new stuff, so it's nice to
spin an old track people have forgotten, or never peeped (i do this all the
time).
i'm mainly an acid jazz dj, but if i really like something that's not a/j,
i'll find a place to put it in. i've been sneaking d & b & weird world music
into some of my sets, and me & my partner have been spinning d'angelo purely
because we like it.
