This is certainly true, especially in areas where the musicians involved
are trying to get more people interested.

Just out of curiosity, how many "trip-hop" musicians use the term?
The Marschmellows LP I just picked up has a "File under Trip-Hop"
blurb on it, but I don't know whether that's artist- or label-driven
(or how much of a dividing line there is between the two).

(Quick review of that Marschmellows LP: slightly more electronically
cold than I'd hoped for, and with more female vocals than I'm generally
thrilled with -- feels too pop or something. The tune "Blackout" is still
super-fine, though, and the rest may grow on me.)
