too right paul, I remember the first time i saw galliano, at a gig when I was
at poly, juss before the release of 'in persuit of the thirteenth note',
wasn't inta things jazzy funky til that gig, I've never seen so many smiles
from kids who didn't know what to expect.... nice band... mate... keep it
live... Britian has always been an innovative place, iss juss we're not very
good at exploiting it, hence stuff like acid-jazz only recently gettin
distributed properly in the states....
anyway, onto new things.... juss got the cup of tea compilation, its pretty
cool, although I think some tunes sounda a little naeve... I'm dead chuffed
they made someint of the cup of tea thing, but I did enjoy it more when they
juss did thursdays down the Blue Mountain, and the only people who turned up
loved it.... but hell, go buy it (will post a track listing if anyone
wants it)...
Did I read someone mention the Trip-hop band Lamb??? they supported smith an
mighty in a StPauls carnival benifit gig, and what can I say, except utter
toilet... can anyone correct me on this observation? cos I havent heard em on
vinyl.... Smith an Mighty were fantastic that night, shame they pulled out of
BCF....
take it easy,
j
