"Hear I am to save the day....."
Well, not quite. It just so happens that I have a Vibrastone release. As a
matter of fact, it's playing *RIGHT NOW*!!! (I'm in the process of dubbing
it for a Japanese friend who's visiting town.) Anyway, the release I have is:
Vibrastone - "Hoodist Village" single.
"Hoodist Village"
"Public Enemy" Vietnam Mix
"Public Enemy" Instrumental
"Mikky-D" Raid Mix
"Wabi Sabi" 9.29QUATTRO
And that's how it breaks down. The original version of "Public Enemy"
(presumably it's this track the blurb means as it's not entirely clear,)
appears on "Etropy Productions" through Pony Canon (i.e. the label this
single appears on too.) "Wabi Sabi" was recorded live at (Tokyo's?) "Club
Quattro" on Sunday the 29th of September, 1991.
The group members are;
Chikada Haruo (MIC)
Dr. Tommy (MIC)
Oto (GUITAR)
Yosuke Okada (GUITAR)
Yuji Okiyama (BASS)
Takahiro Watanabe (KEYBOARDS)
Yuji Yokozeni (DRUMS)
Nogera (CONGA & BONGO)
Kimihiko Sato (TENOR SAX)
Kiyoshi (TRUMPET)
Kounosuke (TROMBONE)
Heika (BARITONE SAX)
And that's it. Phew! Certainly a big crew.
BTW make no mistake, the two MIC guys are rappers. Also, I got this single
in '94 so it's quite dated, but still a nice piece of work (socially
conscious too.)
I asked Ben List, a.k.a. "the man in Japan" (whose been AWOL in recent
months), if he had heard of them some time ago and he hadn't so that's about
all I know.
Hope that helps. Oh, and the catalogue number was PCCA-00343 on Pony Canon,
Japan.
Dino!
