Recommendation, and questio

Just picked up "Live at the Social: Volume 1" which as far as I know is
probably only released in England on the Heavenly records label (got it in
London last week). For all fans of energetic beats, this CD is a must.
I've seen the Chemical Bros mix at the Social twice, both times blew my
head to bits, and this CD is exactly what I remember it sounding like.
They even put on that Charlatans 'nine acre dust' song too which I
remember being a sort of anthem for the place. The only problem is that I
can't listen to it and do anything productive....at least at the volume it
should be played at....

Anyway, listening to tracks 11&12 on the disc has stimulated another
question I've been meaning to ask - is there anyone on this list who can
recommend a good slate of releases that combine breaks & analogue synth
sounds? I'm sure a good bit of this type of stuff has been released, but
in exploring music mentioned on this list & in the magazines I haven't
really come across much (notable exception being some of the stuff on the
"Darker side of Jazz" comp of Mephisto singles). I've grabbed a few
records in the "funky breaks" section of my favorite local techno record
store, but they always seemed to be drum-machine oriented songs, and I
need real breakbeats!

Also picked up the Carl Cox - At the end of the cliche album, which,
although fairly unrelated to most of the music here, has a few good tunes
with breakbeat backbones as well. Good stuff.
