A book some of you might want to check out is "Ocean Of Sound" by David
Toop (published by Serpent's Tail). The history of ambient and all musics
related. Everyone, from Debussy and Satie to Paradinas and James and
everything in between, is mentioned here. Sun Ra, Lee Perry, Bill
Laswell, Pete Namlook, Richard James, Brian Eno, Ryuichi Sakamoto,
Marshall Jefferson, Larry Heard, Kirk DeGiorgio, David Lynch, Alex
Paterson, Jimi Cauty and many others appear from page to page speaking
their mind. Plus, it's a fast read. Essential.
