At the risk of being flamed big time, what about Stanley Clarke. I know
he's deteriated into film sound tracks and the like of recent times, but
back in the seventies when he did a lot of stuff with George Duke, he was
producing some very funky riffs. Also, on his album 'If Only This Bass
Could Talk' there are some very good solos IMHO.
