Speaking of which: Here's a Christian McB - Acid Jazz connection:
CMcB went to the Philadelphia High School of the Performing Arts, and
among his classmates were Boyz II Men, and a couple other musician
friends of his who asked him to be their bassist in their band. He joined
for a while, but later left to pursue his own career. That band later on
added new members and became:
The Roots.
No kidding!
(another jazz bassist connection: The Roots were discovered by Jamaldeen
Tacuma).
