Raw Stylus has been active for quite a while. Dont know much but got some
old stuff on different collections. Their earlier sound was much more
heavy - that is not so brit-soul but more of the then called abstract-jazz
thing. Better before really. But still, anyone who takes in Donald Fagan
got a good start... :)

I definatley agree. The first track is the best. The record is supposed
to be partly produced by Sade (but I cant find her name on it). Anyway, the
similarities are definatley there.

Lionrock is really not THEM but instead HE. His name is Justin Robertsson.
He is so far most famous for his remixing work (check out the Deconstruct
labels homepage for full remixing-list). He has been DJing for many years
and started up a lot of (in)famous clubs, mainly in northern england. He
is based in Manchester.
About his solowork. He has released (I think) six singles over the years.
The debut album is "An Instinct for Detection". A strange mix between
soulfull jazz-tunes mixed up with more heavy dance/techno sounds a.k.a
Chem.Bros. (Justin is also the one who got them started in their DJcareers
in the first place). Lionrock has now reformed into more of a band. They
are currently touring England and Europe (will come to Sweden for the
Lollipop festival this summer). Most of the tracks are rewritten to be
performed live. This means partly new baslines, drumpatterns and more rap
put on top of it all. Next single out is "Fire up the shoeshaw". A crazy
track featuring a replay of Dusty Springfields "These boots are made for
walking" fucked up almost beyond recognition.

Justin was DJing in Stockholm Sweden some weeks ago. As a DJ he's definatley
the best I ever seen. He is truley an artist behind the turntables. Cant
wait to see him live.........just buy the stuff and enjoy......
