speaking of musical families, though this is not aj -- eric wright (Easy E)
was the son of charles wright. (i think that n.w.a. took their song express
yourself from charles wright.)
picked up an aj compilation on global -- a best of aj comp. was surprised
that they included a track from 1984 from working week entitled venceremos
featuring tracey thorn. i've had the twelve inch for ten years now and kind
of forgot about it. it's werid to think working week and the bands that
paul weller produced in the 80's got me into the aj vibe.
i like the vocals songs that joi cardwell has done with brooklyn funk
essentials, but didn't really care for her album (pendulum vibe?) which i
think was more commercial/poppy soul sounding. any comments on her other
works? any other recommended female vocalists?

Sade definitely has a good vibe to her but have you heard the recent cuts
from Jhelia- She's really smooth. I got a question for you all- Do any
of you know where I can get my hands on some import material from mc
solaar? I dig his vibe- Combat Prose is probably one of the best albums
I've heard inthe last ten years.
