Horace's "Song for my Father" and the above mentioned
song both share a bass line, but the fact is, that the line
is a typical Bossa-Nova line, on the 1 and 5 of the triad,
emphasising each downbeat and the eighth note before it.
Steely Dan couldn't have ripped Horace off because as
brilliant as his compositions are, he didn't invent the
Bossa Nova!
